Yes, I got a Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas. I spent hours trying to download the libby Overdrive app to it. Called the help line and was told that I couldn't get the overdrive app on my Paperwhite. So I read the post from K. on this Q&A page. I downloaded Libby Overdrive to my phone and was able to connect with my local library. I was able to link my phone to my Kindle and can now cull books on Overdrive and send them to Paperwhite. Thank you K. !

It depends. If your local library uses libby, yes. You download the app separately (on your phone) and check out books to kindle which you tin then open up on your paperwhite. If your local library does non use libby and uses another app, then no. For example, my library uses cloudlibrary app which will not work.
For those suggesting to become a new library card, libraries are publicly funded and location based- you only have access to the ones in your community unless you cull to pay to access a library elsewhere with libby, which defeats the purpose.

I agree with the person who is furious with Jeff Bezos, and kindle. I already have two paid newspaper digital subscriptions and I only realized that I wouldn't be able to admission my subscriptions (which I share with my family unit) on my brand new paperwhite. This, plus the disability to borrow books for the kindle from my library, is a shock. I'one thousand admittedly not very tech savvy, but after doing a lot of research, I never in one case read that this would be an result. I'm likely going to return my make new paperwhite and example, and I"m extremely bellyaching.

I've been using Libby with my paper white for a year and its very easy. Groovy interface. I probably shouldn't say hither, but I have bought hardly any books since starting time to utilize the Libby app. Its really easy and not bad. I"grand also able to get audible books with it onto my iPhone and utilize those while driving to an from work. You demand to programme in accelerate what you are going to read as the most popular books you typically need to put a request in and so wait. I ordinarily accept three-4 books in my concord list.
